Army of Women Scientific Advisory Committee

The Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation has developed a Love/Avon Army of Women Scientific Advisory Committee (SAC) comprised of advocates, health care professionals, researchers, and other stakeholders. All committee members will:

• Review requests from scientists seeking permission to solicit volunteers from the Love/Avon Army of Women for their research studies, and approve or deny such requests.
• Serve as spokespersons and advocates for the Love/Avon Army of Women.

The SAC includes approximately 20 volunteers who were invited to sit on the committee because of their expertise regarding and their commitment to the eradication of breast cancer. Collaborators, including the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) and the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), nominated at least one member from within their organization. New members will be chosen with priority given to specialties needed to implement the current Army of Women strategy.

The SAC will review all research proposals to determine if they are reasonable and feasible in the framework of the Love/Avon Army of Women.

Army of Women Steering Committee

The Love/Avon Army of Women will be governed by a steering committee that will be responsible for major decision making regarding fiscal policy, direction, and vision. This committee will be comprised of representatives from the Dr. Susan Love Research Foundation and the Avon Foundation, advocates from the National Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC), and scientists from the American Association for Cancer Research (AACR), and an outside funding agency.
